BUTLEY PRIORY

is a fairytale 14 century monastery set
in the wilds of the Suffolk coast

There are 6 divinely comfortable double bedrooms all with private bathrooms which are available on a ‘bed and breakfast’ basis. The house and grounds are also available as a fabulous private venue for events and weddings for up to 120 people.

Only bird song disturbs the peace. The huge windswept beaches are a 10 minute drive away (or a glorious 2 hour walk over the marshes) offering inspiration and solace on a grand scale. There is also bicycling, birdwatching, sailing, antique-ing and extremely invigorating bathing!. The fascinating Viking site of Sutton Hoo is 2 miles away, and the lovely bird sanctuary at Minsmere is only a 20 minute drive. Aldeburgh and the Snape Maltings concert hall is within easy reach, and Orford, famous for its delicious oysters is 3 miles away. There are many delightful pubs and sea food restaurants within a short drive from the house.
