606 Club, one of the UK’s leading jazz & live music venues, presents “A Night at the 606” at Suffolk’s historic Butley Priory, a former medieval monastery between Woodbridge and Aldeburgh in an area of outstanding beauty on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. With a reputation built upon and strongly associated with its support of British-based jazz talent, the inaugural “A Night at the 606” will feature some of the Club’s best-loved & renowned artists, including vocalists Polly Gibbons, Hayley Sanderson & Zoe Francis; guitarist Jim Mullen; saxophonist Dave O’Higgins & pianist Gareth Williams & his Trio, who will also accompany the featured performers. The 606 Club’s owner Steve Rubie – who has been running the Club since 1976, almost forty years now – will compère the night.

Following the success of our February event we have another MUSICAL WALK featuring Frances Shelley and Matthew Bickerton
Gary Battell, leading expert in ancient forests and renewal, will lead us on a magical walk around Staverton Park (www.stavertonpark.com) a famous 1000 year old oak wood originally used by the monks of the Priory for coppicing. (sometimes you can actually see knights in shining armour riding through the trees, and monks in Cassocks busy at their work . . . !)
Back to Butley Priory for hot soup (roots and coriander?) where composer / improviser Frances Shelley and sound designer Matthew Bikerton will play an hour of candle lit music improvised in response to the afternoon’s walk.
Tickets £15 from firstname.lastname@example.org
Booking essential 2 – 6 pm details of walk meeting place will be emailed to you when you book
