Butley Priory is the home of a musical family. Frances Shelley (pianist / composer and one half of the band Pianofield) and her daughters Bess and Jayna Cavendish (who together form the band AYA) have lived and made music here for over 25 years! The house itself encourages creativity. Musicians who have frequented the Priory include Jools Holland, Nils Frahm, Poppy Ackroyd, and Charlie XX - a varied selection! Some just have stayed, and some performed here.
Frances regularly curates small intimate live performances which are held in the incredibly atmospheric Great Hall. The intriguing, unusual, captivating and slightly out of the box are the kinds of acts that Frances chooses!
