The Great Hall

Originally the carriageway through the Gatehouse to the Priory, this was converted into a magnificent room with soaring stone vaulted ceilings and huge stone fireplace in the 17th Century. The height of the arches, and the big French Doors opening onto the terrace give this room a wonderfully light and spacious feel.

Breakfasting in the Great Hall at Butley is a truly breathtaking experience! Make sure you are hungry. Linger on the terrace in summer, or by the roaring log fire on cold days, with coffee and newspapers.
